Service With an Impact

The members of Arlington House Chapter, NSDAR, are passionate about bettering the community around us.

Below are just examples of the activities that our members participate in:

Champion Patriotism

  • We maintain two historical Washington, D.C. boundary stones in the Arlington region.

  • In September, we promote Constitution Week in the community.

Support Current & Retired Armed Services Members

  • In 2019, the Arlington House Chapter, NSDAR, facilitated the award of $40,000 to Final Salute's Karen's Home, transitional housing for homeless female veterans. We also donate business and other clothing to help them succeed in the workplace.

  • We assist at a yearly party at the Armed Forces Retirement Home. We pass out gifts to residents, listen to stories, and spend time with the service members who reside there.

Promote Literacy & Conservation in Classrooms

  • We donate funds to the Northern Virginia Literacy Council to support adult learners.

  • We provide supplies and books promoting environmental education in elementary schools and libraries.

Advocate for Healthier Living

  • We partner with the Arlington Free Clinic to meet their current needs.

  • We donate shoes to local Arlington organizations to help people get back on their feet.

Support Each Other's Successes and Achievements

  • We are a sisterhood, and together, we achieve service with an impact in Arlington.

  • We form long-lasting friendships with those in the DAR.
